Stories That Life Writes

With a subtle blend of short stories and poetry, author Dr. Marlis Hübner takes her audience on a literary journey that explores the longing for freedom, a connection to nature, and love.

Born in Dahme, Dr. Marlis Hübner initially pursued a career in law and worked as a lawyer for many years. Yet her passion for the written word has always been with her. Today she lives in the Baltic resort of Ahrenshoop and feels a deep connection to the rugged, inspiring natural landscape of the town—a bond that is palpable in every line of her work.

Home, History, and Deep Emotions

The themes of her poems and stories are as diverse as life itself: the homeland of childhood, the untamed power of nature, and, time and again, love. With warmth and wisdom, the author weaves family narratives with the changing tides of contemporary history. Her short stories tell, with unflinching honesty yet full of empathy, of new beginnings and decline, of success and failure, of the deep desire to belong, and of the constant longing for freedom.
